Dear Readers,
We’re going to be honest with you: we’re tired. Our tiny team has worked themselves to the bone trying to keep up with the demands of this new, strange world, and we need a break. It is difficult to look after our customers when we haven’t adequately looked after ourselves. So, considering rising case numbers in the Geelong region, we’ve decided now is a good time to step back and stay home, for our safety and yours.
This week, we will be open as per usual (10am – 5pm, Tues 4th to Sat 8th Aug) with additional conditions of entry in place as stipulated by the Victorian State Government. Namely, this means if you’re not wearing a facemask you cannot enter our bookshop. Simples. Hand sanitising and social distancing while in our space continues to be of the upmost importance.
At this stage, we intend to reopen on Tuesday 1 September, provided we can do so. This will most likely be at the door once again, returning to our takeaway table. A reminder and update on our reopening plans will be communicated to you at a later date via our usual channels – on our Facebook and Instagram pages, via our newsletter, and on our website.
Speaking of the website, there is some good news lurking behind all this: we are nearly ready to launch our online shop! So many people have enquired as to whether we have an online store so they can support us from afar, and it will be such a joy to be able to say: ‘yes, indeed we do’. We’re putting the finishing touches on the site as we speak and will announce the launch soon, so stay tuned!
