What a great night we had last night! A full house at The KO Creative Studio to hear Annie Smithers in conversation with local chef and co-owner of Tulip Restaurant Mike Jaques, celebrating the release of Annie’s second memoir, ‘Kitchen Sentimental’.

Annie and Mike had so much to say about the restaurant industry; their love of cooking; food waste and how to avoid it; why Annie cannot watch the show ‘The Bear’; growing and raising what ends up in our plates; the future of food; the considerations of running a fine dining establishment; French food; small country towns; and the reasons why they do what they do… ❤️

📣 EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

We’re so excited to welcome Paul Bangay back to Geelong to discuss his new book, ‘Big Garden Design’ at The KO Creative Studio on Monday 23 September.

We know a few of you missed out on tickets to our last evening with Paul (which, can you believe, was a year ago now) so we are pleased to be having him back for another rich and illuminating conversation with journalist, podcaster and director of the Sorrento Writers Festival, Corrie Perkin.

Paul will be talking all about ‘Big Garden Design,’ which looks at sprawling country gardens from across the world. This book is a tour de force of landscaping projects complete with lakes, mountains and walled gardens. Each garden featured in the book includes plans and insights into the design process.

What’s more, this event is taking place the night BEFORE Paul’s book is officially released, so attendees will get the first look at this beautiful new offering from one of Australia’s most beloved garden designers.
