Help us celebrate our 9th birthday by submitting to our Design a Bookmark competition. The winning designs will take home a cash prize and be made into specially printed bookmarks available for purchase in our shop.
Can you believe we’ve been pedaling books to the local Geelong literary community for nine years? We can’t. We can’t believe that young readers who first entered our store as eleven-year-olds are now fully-fledged adults, or that those babies we met on Day One are now in grade four. We’ve had the immense pleasure of pairing Geelong readers with their next favourite book for close to a decade, and so we’re running an art competition to celebrate…
We’d love for our community to help us create a selection of bookmarks that capture the spirit of The Book Bird. This could be anything from the book bird as a character, our shop front or location along picturesque Pakington Street, or some other aspect of local, independent bookshop magic that you feel is central to The Book Bird.
There are three cash prizes up for grabs:
1st Prize $300
2nd Prize $200
3rd Prize $100
All the winning designs will be made into beautifully printed bookmarks available to purchase in store.
Bookmark size: 6cm x 17cm
Competition dates:
Opens: Tues 3 September
Closes: Fri 25 October
Winner announced: Fri 1 November
How to submit:
Please submit your design as a high resolution image (preferably JPEG or PNG) via email to info@thebookbird.com.au. In your cover email, please include your full name, email address, mobile number and a sentence or two about your design (for instance, is it a digital illustration or watercolour?). For all designs on paper, as opposed to digital works, we also require the original artwork to be submitted to the shop.
